well, inspired by jrs's high velocity 6mm i set out to break the sound barrier my self :) I have made the chamber out of 3/4 inch sch 80 pvc fittings are sch40, but not to worry there is sch 80 below it so i should be fine, plus its strengthen by jb weld, the whole cannon is 6.8 inches in lenght, all i eed is the 1/4 union, shock pump and barrel, seeing jsr's cannon, he takes it to around 400 psi, so will i :) *note ill post the whole cannon on showcase when I am finished.

WoW bigger is not always better :D (almost)

yep, small-more pressure-more power-more hurt/ carnage

Note how JSR used a burst disk, which is much more efficient.

Your airchamber is overkill

I am using a burst disk, thats why i listed 1/4 inch union witch i am making, chamber is not an over kill because im using about a little over then 1 meter of 6mm copper tubing

at 400psi you can use longer barrel and still gain power...

yea, so the chamber is plenty, hell ill just use the whole stick of copper :) , well.. most of it

just use the longest you can get and if it turns out BAD cut off a bit until it works:) it is better to get it to long than to short...

not supersonic. air can not move faster then speed of sound.

Its benstern what can we say, obey the hypnotic toad.

Yes it can, one just has to apply heat. JSR got damn close (1104fps) with ambient air, maybe in a hot evironment it would be possible (Death Valley).

And think of the air in a supersonic jets cabin, that can exceed Mach 1 plus some :D

I can think of several commercial airguns that is capable of supersonic shots with the use of compressed air.

Touché :D

Good luck with your efforts elite, hope the construction can take the high pressures you're planning on using.
