Im having a bad run lately in getting a .177 BBMG to fire/feed correctly,I made a full hole inline vortex (20mm hole) made from acrylic sheet running a halfway skirt and placed in acrylic tube(35mm ID),using the spring/plunger set up and no matter what I did would not fire consistantly.

Moved onto that Vortex endcap design(bbs vortex in an endcap) using the D Style configuration and constructed from 20mm pvc pipe/fittings,using spring/plunger this just would no fire either!.

On the weekend I tried a half hole vortex made from acrylic sheet(19mm hole) placed into 20mm pipe/fittings,BB Chamber is 5" deep,again using spring/plunger,this one and the others used the same 25" stainless barrel.Tried this with skirts and it struggled to feed,I took the skirts off and it fed much better but still keeps jamming up or just not vortexing the bbs and hissing out air?.

I had just recently got back into the BBMG/Airgun hobby again but this has disapointed me somewhat,I dont know what im doing wrong= the only thing I can come up with is the Air Inlet being placed slightly off on my guns? but on the second gun I moved the Air Inlet back,angled it you name it and still would not work correctly.

My older BBMG's I had no probs with=RAZOR bbmg using the old school "vortex block" design and my DESTRUCTO cloud pistol yes they work ok I guess but they do jam a little and you have to shake them.This is why I was trying to construct one of the Inline spring,plunger designs because of the guns ive seen on here that seem to feed/fire with no jams and not having to shake the bastard to get it to keep firing. I may have to come up with a different bb feeder as ive had no luck with these 3

EDIT: All these were run on my compressor at 110psi and tried 2 different blowguns,one pistol grip type and one conventional paddle type,all guns tested with and without the spring/plunger:For the life of me I dont know why none would fire??

Sounds like a type of mixer is needed. Something like a paddle wheel sitting above the air inlet to keep the bb's moving around. Your flares could be to big allowing bb's to enter side by side instead of one behind the other.

Just idea's off the top of my head, I've never built one of these.

well first i would recommend trying a simple inline vortex. noname has some good information on it here on the forums, including a tutorial on how to make a vortex block. i would look up his posts to help you out.

Ive heard about your problems with the vortex cap configuration... you said that you had a bb stuck in your air inlet and once you removed it it fired... still having issues with it of some kind? Also on your D-mag style what kind of pressures are you running? Also if you do have a saftey pin setup for your D-mag make sure your pin isnt too small for your cut (make sure there is no leak).

With a D-mag setup it should have enough force to agitate the bb's with 60+ PSI. If you do have a leak the PSI would have to be raised or the leak would have to be fixed.

Also your spring may be too powerful and you may have to get a weaker spring... I found shotgun springs found at gunsmiths or gander mountain work and fit perfectly into 3/4 pipe for a vortex cap... Also what size is your vortex cap, 3/4" or 1"?

Take some pictures of your vortex cap and also your vortex block and I will be able to help you further...

So either ask singularity or me... we both know more than the typical guy/girl about vortex's on spudfiles. Also if neospud is ever one he knows a lot about inlines.

Running 110 Psi on all my guns,D Style BBMG used 20mm fittings(20mm endcap too) Air inlet was Steel puttied and re-drilled to a size just under that would not allow bb to enter it.Running no safety Pin set up,tried with no spring/plunger and with still would not work gun this gun was cut up to make the last one so no pics avail.

The last BBMG I tried was a simple inline as posted about on here in How to threads and looked at other guys inlines on here too before construction.Again using all 20mm pvc pipe+fittings this did not work either,running a half hole vortex,first one was Full hole vortex and as stated on my first post all guns tried with and without spring plungers and at 110 psi no air leaks on any of them either. Most guys on here can knock up a simple inline BBMG with ease,from the looks of it and do look very simple yet for the life of me I cant get one to work??.

Dont know what else to try,as ive tried different psi,altered Air inlets,BB Chamber sizes, New bbs, with /without spring/plungers must just have REALLY BAD LUCK?!

yeah bad luck is all I can foresee without pics... Inline Vortex's arnt hard to make and my vortex cap design is even easier to make...

Since both have been incorporated by soo many people Idk what to tell you... Both designs have been proven to be sound. so yeah take some pics and ill be able to help you out further.
