Automatic gas Rifle

all gas rifles are either semi automatic, or bolt action. But an automatic gas gun would be awesome.
The design (Note: I am no good with paintshop and cannot upload ms word drawings).
Like a basic gas gun a chamber fills up with gas. Another line of gas pumps into a cog that pumps a spring down. When a missing tooth on the cog reaches the winch for the spring, the spring is released releasing the gas. The process begins again and the gas gun becomes automatic.

are you talking about professionally made airsoft guns? they do have full auto

and

well not a rifle it's automatic
and
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=3511
they are available for purchase so what is the point of this post?
furthermore your idea as i am to understand sounds like an AEG not a gas gun.[/img]

what? if he is saying that you can buy semi or bolt action guns than he is not referring to the legality. yes they may be illegal some places but he seems to be talking about production guns.

I'm guessing he actualy means air rifles, not rifle replicas.
I think there have been quite a few auto mods for air rifles, just by changing the sear mechanism.
And there is also the caselman air machine gun

There are several auto gas guns right on this forum! GB semi is actually auto, BTB's paintball gun is auto, several of ant's airsoft guns are auto. Pointless.

1) Not an aeg.
2) THis gun is completely powered by gas, the guns their where incredibly high priced, or low on the fps scale. Most gas blowback guns have super low fps, few have little more than 320 fps (Yes I know some gas pistols achieve 430fps). They are incredibly high priced.
3) Mine allows for the high fps rating of a rifle such as here
http://www.handhelditems.com/mark-luger ... -8410.html and full automatic capabilities such as an aeg. Those M60s mike1010 showed did not have fps ratings, so thus are unreliable. I know it would have high fps because it would just take the gas chamber from a high fps gas gun, and like I said earlier modify it to full auto.

From airsoft gi, the escort m60: "Muzzle Velocity: 300-420 FPS (120 to 140 PSI)"
And I don't know what you meant by "1) Not an aeg." Nobody said anything about AEGs.

I don't think anyone gets what you are saying. If by "gas" you mean CO2 and by "rifles" you mean "store bought airsoft guns" you would almost be right. I have seen automatic airsoft Co2 cartridge guns, but they are rare. Most are pointless because a the hassle of switching 12 gram cartridges every 100-200 rounds outweighs the benefit. That is why C02 is used in high end semi-auto airsoft pistols and sniper rifles.
There are guns that use 12-20+ oz co2 paintball tanks in vortex blocks to achieve 100 bps in airsoft guns. Plenty on the forums. Not the mechanism you are describing, but more effective. Search for them!

this gun is meant to use green gas or propane. The large propane container could be used as a butt stock, allowing for a tank to be easily replaced. Furthermore, the airsofters on airsoft gi have chronoed higher fps than the company claimed. Plus, the m60 was "300-420" which is horribly weak or horribly strong, thus unreliable. My system uses the actual gas chamber which powers the luger carbine mentioned earlier. As my system is not blowback, more shots can be fired and has higher fps, again.

Dude, did you even read what I said? "Muzzle Velocity: 300-420 FPS
(120 to 140 PSI)"
It depends on the PSI you pressurize the gas at. That's why they put that comment about 120-140 psi next to it. It's not inconsistent, it just allows variable FPS from differing pressures.

Ok, this is not getting anyone anywhere, so just post the picture! You CAN upload ".doc"s, or you could just copy-paste the text (What is this, ascii art?!) If its a picture, you can upload that too.

Idea update:
Another thing would be a hybrid between co2 powered and spring.
3 co2 cartridges (yes I know this is alot, but it is necessary for this gun) feed into a piston that pushes a high powered spring. When the spring is almost all the way back, a bb is loaded into the chamber. When the spring is all the way back, a switch is hit that stops the inflo o gas and opens the piston chamber, releasing all the gas and pressure. THe spring shoots back into original position propelling the bb.
In other words, this based on the gas blowback mechanism used in real guns, of course, the gas comes from an external source.

then why don't you try to build it? if you think it's so great and has never been done build it patent it and get vc funding and start your own buisness
