My version of the Burst Disc Cartridge for Paintball (2"

Well with the nice weather coming up and paintball season beginning, I decided to work on a paintball grenade launcher designed to be undermounted on my Tippmann 5. This here is the cartridge prototype- just glued it up this morning. It's basically a 1.25" female threaded coupling with some 3/4" pipe glued in the back for it to seal against. That's glued in the two inch pipe, which forms the cartridge body. The 1.25" male gets screwed in with a burst disc. A washer of some sort will have to be put in as well in order for the male coupler to get up nice and tight against the burst disc.

Watch this space for test results and launcher as well

Future upgrades to the cartridge include slimming down the burst disc holder part because it is fairly long and adding superfluous length to the cartridge

Anyway, enough rambling, time for pictures!

View inside back end- it's all messy because the JBWeld gets smeared as the female piece got slid in.

adding superfluous length to the cartridge
I dare say so, fine sir. Quite frivolous indeed.

Here here, can we permit ourselves such excesses in good faith given the current climate of financial turmoil?

:D

Looking good ILTBTU, let's see it in action :)

lol yes....

well as i was looking at it today ( have to test it at some point...) I decided I think I'll just reduce this to 1.25" caliber. I'll test the 2" version, but I think 1.25" will be more optimal, especially since I plan on mostly using just shotgun rounds of paintballs.

The 2" was designed with grenades in mind...

But watch this space for testing results
