i dont think it a hammer valve and bb comes from mag and air comes from back

it would be cool to build one

Go back and read the video description. If it has "Hammer spring preload", I think that might provide a hint about the type of valve it has.

There's also an old topic on the product here

EDIT: Rant moved elsewhere.

That was a prototype for this model which was discussed on the forum though as Rag pointed out the discussion seems to have been lost...

hmm it's a pity.. it looked like a nice gun... would be pretty cool in 10 mm caliber

I'm guessing its function is not too different from the caselman, not too much of a chore for those with machine shop and HPA access. With a bit of ingenuity it could probably done with less resources, Anton proved that a low pressure hammer valve is a viable project even with rudimentary tools and materials, and after all, think of all the gas semi/full auto airsoft guns that operate on propane pressures.

Which only want to get in the 300-400 fps range..

It's a blowback hammer valve, just spruced up a lot.

If you only have low pressure to work, then pick one of JSR's designs as it will give much better performance.

Apparently they will start refilling soda stream cylinders near us soon- if they do, I'd be up for something like this..

Edit: after watching the prototype vid, it was chronied at 370.5 fps. So, it's not massive, but.. eh

No, that was stupidity on my part. Spudfiles doesn't like capital letters in URLs. Try again.

My comment was about me having moved a moan at about poor topic titles elsewhere.

Right.

Anyway, back to the subject, I was getting 400 fps with steel BBs with my ball valve strafer at just 100 psi so you can actually get better performance with a simpler design, though I have to admit I would prefer the blowback "cool" factor than a BB hose

I prefer lower velocities over high-power stuff. Mostly it's becuase I live in suburbia, where that isn't something I can do (legally), it also allows me to use that design for airsoft.

In (semi)un-related news, does anyone know if SMU-Lyle has a good machine shop? They DO have a partnership with Lockheed-Martin (namely Skunkworks), which piqued my interest. Plus, they sent me a free t-shirt. I might be going there in two or three years. I wanna know what I'm going to be asking to borrow for a few hours.
