So I was thinking about creating an inline vortex gun, and I have most of it worked out except the fact that i don't know exactly what type of blowgun/valve to use. I was looking into button valves but they cost over $30 and theres not much info on them. So, links to the ones you guys use would be great! Also I was curious about what type of wood would make good pieces

I also have bondo and fiberglass, but the burntlake ( i think thats its name) guide to making a bondo vertex is confusing, it doesnt have alot of pictures to go along with it.

I also read on the spudwiki about something called a C:B ratio, and i couldnt understand exactly what it was telling me.. sorry for my noobiness I'm new to all of this.

One more question. would a large pvc tube with two end caps be able to be filled with enough air to power an inline vortex gun for a long time? say i got it to 300 psi, and then regulated it to 120?

C:B ratio is a reference to the ratio of your chamber size to barrel size. And pvc @300 psi? thats a big no-no. Why not buy an airtank for about 20 bucks? And if you want greater flow, just mod the blowgun. Please use the wiki as a guide as it is very useful.

Alright, ill look into tanks then, but i need to know about good blowguns now, I cant seem to find any that look like they have an inlet and outlet with threads >.<, and if possible I'd rather have a button then a lever to pull.

A 2 litre tank at 110 psi gives me about 4 seconds worth of firing.

So what size tanks do you guys use? I've seen videos where people fire for wayyy more then 4 seconds, how long would a 5 lb tank last?

4 seconds was with a tank at low compressor pressures, a high pressure CO₂ tank regulated to lower pressure as used here will last significantly longer.

so a 20/25 oz tank should last a long time? how much are co2 refills

depends on the PVC size and pressure rating..

1.25" nsf-pw sch40 pvc is commonly rated to 370psi.
Smaller sizes are rated even higher.

what kind of airtank are you talking about because that would be truely awesome if i could find a descently sized airtank for that much

you could use a used fire extinguisher, or you could look for an LPA aluminum tank

thanks for the advice. Are their any walkthroughs on how to connect either to an aircannon i have some of my own ideas but i would like to look at some proven ways?
