i was just wondering which one is better

i've been having trouble making inline vortex because i dont have a spring

and does vortex cap require a shroud?

i will post up couple plans i had in mind in a bit

btw is a 1 inch abs dwv pipe good for making vortex cap gun?

PS if you have any plans of a gun i could build please post

my first 1/4th finished bb gun

Build both and find out for yourself. Springs aren't hard to find anywhere.
ABS will be fine for any vortex gun without a high pressure ball detent.

There's all kinds of things you can buy at any hardware store that should have springs in them. The computer lamp sitting right next to me has springs that would work fine.
As for making a plunger, all you need is a loose fitting piston and a spring. I've used a bottle cap as a plunger before; it just has to be loose enough to slide and tight enough so that BBs can't fit past it.

That's correct; you could use a spring from a sprinkler valve, although it would be a better choice to use a spring from a valve repair kit.

i finally understand the power of the vortex gun >_<

home depot was closed today so i decided to build a vortex cap gun out of a film canister

im sure there are leaks and etc but i just used a scissor and made random holes for and in and out hole

here are the result from just 50 psi and a 2 second put together gun with leaks

i can feel the impact of the bullets swirling inside the canister and i had to hold the lid down for the gun to fire but here is the gun etc etc

Been thanked: 1 time

I actually did work on a project like this. It's still incomplete and sitting in the corner of my room because I was meant to put it in a M16 toygun, kinda fits right but anyway. I got a short video of it I think...

It's just an idea. I used a 45degree elbow instead though because it would feed better than a 90 degree one. Also I didn't have to use a spring but a shroud is a must or else it will definitely get jammed. My shroud was just like 2 layers of tissue box cardboard and placed in a slit I cut. Check it out. It might help :).
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

hey thats a sick gun =]

ima try it first without a shroud and see how it goes because my film canister was filled full and it was still fine

and as for the 45 degree elbow i might consider

thanks =]
