I just came up with an idea of building a vortex pistol. However, I have come across some problems with my first design.

The design starts out with the vortex block. What make it unique is that the vortex block is part of the mag. This would making reloading a lot easier. I think that once its built it will be a beast in airsoft wars.

The first problem is... how the hell am I going to power it?

-CO2 is out of the question, its just way to expensive
-I was thinking of maybe making an air tank and fitting it in a backpack
-Or i was thinking about incorporating the air inside the gun somehow
-I was thinking of doing this by having small cartrages that that would fit on the underside of the barrel (it might make it look like a robocop gun )

what about propane then? it's cheap, it doesn't need an expensive regulator or expensive tanks (you can build a custom tank)

I have tried to use propane in the past on my could bbmg, but it never worked well. Maybe i didn't have the right set up. i took the propane torch head and cut it, then i attached it to the bbmg and i cranked up the propane on the side and all it did was make the bbs rattle around.

If you have any insight on how i would use a propane set up, it would be much appreciated!

well, first of all, you shouldn't use a normal propane reg as it offer very low pressure... you could get one for shop compressors (but it might not work good with propane)
or attach the tank directly - that is use, use unregged propane...

you can find NPT/BSP to tank threads adapters... though I have one for European tanks, but I am sure you must have something similar in the US
