On my new BBMG Vortex Cap Rifle the spread is huge, Over 50 feet the bbs spread 10- 15 feet. It was similair on my inline. I use 9/32 brakeline for the barrel and the bbs fit perfectly any ideas why the spreads so big. Im using .12 gram airsoft bbs, but Ive seen plenty of guns with these that dont have this big of spread.

You can see the spread here, even at close range

9/32 inches = 7.14mm, although it may seem a perfect fit, it is actually around 1mm bigger than the BB, if you want to increase accuracy i would suggest buying a tight-bore air-soft barrel, if you don't want to shell out the cash and get a actual barrel I've heard some carbon fiber hunting arrows have an i.d. of 6.5mm. but they may be difficult to find

Seriously. 1 mm gap, I never saw that, I bought a carbon fiber arrow but that fit metal 4.5 mm bbs perfectly, I see but this barrels epoxyed in so Im stuck for now I guess

My barrel is 7.14 mm also, it is brass tube from ace hardware. If our barrels are the exact same then how can yours spread more than mine? How long is your barrel?

This is from a previous discussion that I had stated.

You could check with a local archery shop and ask for some cut off pieces of different carbon arrow diameters.

One example is PSE Carbon Force 300.
I happen to have one in right in front of me.
Of course this example is 19/64" or .297 inch OD (7.54mm)and .240 inch ID (6.096mm). This is almost exactly what you you want.

You could then put an outer sleeve of brass over it.

Lol Mine is about the same length... I bought about 3 feet of it and then chopped 6 inches off.

Id say they were different feeding mechs but i used the same barrel in my inline, what about a spread test, then we can see, how bout .12 gram bbs at a cardboard target from 30 feet at 100 psi
