I dont have one of these yet, (nerf longshots) yet but they look pretty awesome. I have done a number of mods on my nightfinder to convert them into airsoft guns and am wondering if any one would have a few tips on how to do this or knows of a place that some one has done it.

Take it apart, cut off the nerf barrel, plug it, drill a hole in the plug, put in an airsoft barrel, and make a little airsoft magazine.

Would you happen to know how I can fiqure out an estimate for FPS? Buy figuring out how far it shoots a nerf dart then translating that in to a .12g BB.
or is there a total theroretical way using the volume of the compression chamber?

The ggdt is great but I dont know what the PSI is, how would I go about finding that?

mount a gauge in the airline, where you can see it. ( there were small airlines in a Nerf gun I took apart.)

Could I also findit using physics? Use a newton spring scale to calculate the Spring constant in the spring find the distance fully compressed, use the force calculated to find how the air will be compressed. I cant quite think the last part of the equation though but it might look somthing like this.... F=kx find k then solve for F when x = total compresstion. F*4*pi*r*h(cylider)=PSI maybe, I should talk to a physics major lol im just a lowly computer engineer.
But I think somthing like this might work but some one needs to help me with the last part of the equation, I might be able to look it up in my physics book ( have 3 of them).

EDIT: I found that Pressure = Force / Area But again im still not sure how to translate this into workable information anyway I got class in an hour NEED SOME HELP!!
