Razor Strafer Rifle
Heres the RAZOR Strafer Rifle,Using the conventional Vortex Block (solid pvc rod) to fire/feed the gun which feeds very well indeed after many skirt adjustments.Rifle uses a fantastic and superbly accurate laser sight ,fake flash supressor and .50 cal magazine,days of bondo bodywork,satin black paintjob,2 foot stainless barrel,fires 30 bbs per second(.177 cal),pistol grip blowgun.Powered via my 20 0z co2 bottle/reg set(out in the field) and by an air compressor at home.A very destructive weapon indeed,shreds cans to bits in 1-2 seconds= check out my video of this rifle in action over at the video section of this very site!!!

Well mate, the VORTEX BLOCK was made of a very tough solid PVC ROD that was machined on a lathe down to size to fit perfectly inside the 1" pvc T-fitting that the Vortex Block sits in.With regards to the .50 cal mag,that was an extreme amount of work and is actually part of a VHS video cassette box!!,using other parts of the video box to constuct railings above the .50 cal mag to make it appear the mag really clicks in a mag housing. The primary reason for the mag was actually to hide the airline that runs from the blowgun to the bottom of the 1"T-FITTING,turned out well I guess? but was a lot of frustrating work to complete this project but wanted a strafer that was different than usual in appearance. Bump!, Heres an old post of my" Razor" strafer and seeing all the action lately on the INLINE VORTEX blocks I think I will be making one soon as I can!

Can you chaps help with a question, with the INLINE design hows the rate of fire+ reliability?? I hear some of you say its better than a conventional Vortex gun!?.I seen a few INLINES and they run the spring piston set up on the back to push the bbs into the Vortex, unfortunately I cant do this as I dont have a Lathe : will it make much difference??. I have not seen any of that clear material you guys use for the Inline blocks over here in Australia!??! If I make one I will be hoping to use that!

This gun is extremely nice, and I believe you have to privilege to bump it up two years later. The only thing I would change about it is adding a stock, but that's my opinion. Also, you must be an amazing craftsman to be able to get the Bondo looking that way!
I heartily encourage you to make an inline vortex gun. They have a higher rate of fire, and are usually stronger. They are also more compact, and look better. The spring pushed plunger isn't needed, but it does help. Mine was just a soda bottle cap, no need for a lathe or anything else fancy! The "clear material" I use is just 1/2" (about 13 mm) thick acrylic sheet, you should be able to get it at just about any plastics store.

Thanks for the info Noname! I will be out looking for that Acrylic Sheet although I have never came across any nor have I seen the clear pvc tubing you guys use!! but have allways wanted some.
Jon-89 well even regulated down to 100psi or so the 20 Oz co2 bottle did not last long at all!
I had some tests posted up on Spudtech a while back but as we know that sites gone for good. From memory I only got 3000 rounds out before the bottle was empty?? but mr" NEOSPUD" is getting more with his Inlines using an expansion chamber for the co2.
Strafers are indeed fun but the sheer amount of air needed to keep them running is extreme to say the least!! and both my guns the "Razor rifle" and the "Destructo"pistol have very small bb chambers too!. Rifle uses a 25mm(1")T- Fitting as the bb chamber and only 50mm(2") deep!!, the Destructo cloud pistol uses 20mm(3/4") pipe as the chamber only 65mm(2+1/2") deep even at that the gas/air runs out fast!.
I will definately be working on an Inline soon though, as other Aussie 's on here will testify its quite hard to source up the materials here to construct them!? last time I couldnt even find any stainless tubing to run the .177 bbs( 1/4" tube)..........
