I haven't been here for a while (been busy with other hobbies and schoolwork) but this was something I thought of a long time ago when I made a couple mini-launchers that fired using film containers. I started with design that was simply a combustion gun scaled down then later drew up a "pistol" version.
Inspired by someone's animation of a Tippman C3 propane fueled paintball marker, I ended up creating this animation. I still haven't figured out the loading and fueling sequence but you can figure out what happens when the trigger is pulled.
Combustion based bb/airsoft gun ?

The reloading can be done using a blow-forward breech that shouldn't be too hard to construct.
However, some potential sticking points:
1) venting the chamber in between shots, you might need a chamber fan permanently blowing towards the barrel.
2) more critically, metering the exact amount of butane from the lighter

great idea but work out the kinks like jackssmirkingrevenge said

I really like this idea, I think its got great potential. I have no ideas on the metering system for the butane, however, the bbq ignitor could be replaced with a small stun gun ignition, although then you do need a battery and place for circuit, but you would eliminate the need for a trigger. Plus a button is a lot easier to push than a bbq ignitor, PM me or aim me or something if you want to know more about my stungun idea.
Good Luck
