Im currently after a BB Gun. Ive never owned one but i think shooting is something i could get into. I would prefer to get a spring powered gun, simply because at this stage i dont want to be spending unnecessary money on CO2 canisters. I also would prefer a gun which shoots plastic bullets and not metal. Ive had a look at local sellers on the net and found a few i like, but i could have absolutely no idea what im talking about and could end up with a real piece of junk.

So heres what ive found:

Im a bit skeptical of this one. I guess sellers like this seem dodgey. Made by Monica corp < Brand doesnt sound very professional

"MARUI Glock17", this one is probably the best ive seen. Its around the same price as the other 2.

Edit: Found this site. http://www.outdoorsupplies.co.nz/Airguns2.htm i like the look of them

I really wont be using the gun for much more than cans and targets but i would still like a decent quality gun. If none of these guns are any good could I get some pointers on what I should be looking for?

Hey, I don't know much about BB guns but looks like your from New Zealand judging by the currency you used and guncity.co.nz :P Welcome to spudfiles im from Auckland, what part of NZ are you in?

Auckland aswell. Yeah im having a look in the yellow pages now, maybe it wont be as hard as i thought

I would go for the third one, the glock,but if your going to buy of trademe brand new go for items from guncity,but if you want second hand you can easily get a CO2 BB gun for similar price.

I don't see why you would want an airsoft gun over a BB or pellet gun. But, if you do decide to go the 6mm route, Tokyo Marui guns are your best bet. They are the highest quality, and best airsoft guns made. I would recommend getting a CO2 powered gun, just because you cannot beat full auto, shooting over 450fps (very high for an airsoft gun. Even the best rifles wont shoot much over 500fps). A couple things to look out for: Do not get green gas powered... gas canisters get very expensive. CO2 powerlets, on the other hand, are very cheap. Make sure the gun has an adjustable hop-up (I believe all Tokyo Marui guns have it, but i could be mistaken). Get one of the 40 bb mags, not the little 12 or 15.

btw... if you are just going to be target shooting, why not get a rifle instead of a pistol? Much more powerful and accurate.
