Replica Airsoft Shape.
Hi i have just finished my combustion bb gun(it works alright it jus has to be cocked and sprayed every shot.)And i would like to know how i would shape the "outer shell" i guess that i place over my gun to make it look like a real gun.
I would like to make an SA80 and i would like to know how to make it that shape and what to build it out of and what tools i need.
thanks.

Easy, buy a cheap airsoft SA80, chop of the bits you need like handgrip, sight etc. with a hacksaw and epoxy them to your gun

In that case look around for cheap water pistols (ignore the colours as you can easily paint everything a uniform colour at a later date) as they usually have realistic shapes for grips etc, and you can get a proper red dot sight very cheaply, that will give you something that looks good and is functional too.

Funnily enough that was one of the rifles I used for design inspiration while I was making mine. Try overlaying the two and you'll see what I mean
Shape some bodywork from wood to attach to your cannon if you can't get hold of a airsoft one to rob.
I personally don't like decorative shells much... gets in the way of things and doesn't do much

I dont know if this is a good idea but you can take pvc and melt it in the oven a little and it becomes very pliable. Ive only made flat sheets from pipe, i read it somewhere for the temperature i think it is 325 F until pliable. Just a thought.

LOL, mine didn't i just preheated it and stuck it in for like 5min on middle rack and WALLA Ghetto sheet pvc. Be careful if your parents dont like the smell though its kinda pvc ish not that bad though mine didnt mind.
Well not a lot of people own a heat gun, I don't think. I've got one and I've tried to shape pvc into a different shape, and it didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. I wouldn't recommend doing it, and it also smells really bad if you try to melt it too fast.
I wish I had a better signature...

yeah just draw the shape of the gun on a peice of wood and use a jig saw to cut it out (worked for me)

This guy is selling a M-41A Pulse Rifle replica type thing he made...are you aiming for similar results?

Hmm, that doesn't look very accurate (funny thing: I just watched the Alien quadrilogy again these days).
If you use an inline design one of the easiest guns you can replicate is the Steyr AMR.
For over-unders, just use an assault rifle with an attached GL, like:
FN F2000 - http://world.guns.ru/assault/as41-e.htm
OICW - http://world.guns.ru/assault/as40-e.htm
M16 - http://world.guns.ru/assault/as18-e.htm
or the ones already mentioned above.
