Pocket Strafer: The Smallest Vortex to Date

Well, I was bored, so I made this little beast, which is capable of emptying itself in the space of a second (about 100 BBs). It's 3/4" PVC, just an end cap, a short section of pipe, and a female plug. It's completely spare parts, and it's even more powerful than the SMG. The block was SUCH A PITA! You guys have no idea. It was made from 1/4" acrylic, and was absolutely tiny. THe vortex hole is 1/2" diameter, with my design of cutting part of it off. THe barrel is a 9" long piece of 9/32" aluminum brakeline.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can see how dimpled the top of the can is, from when the can tipped and I was blasting through the sides and bottom.

Very nice! It must have been hard to make that tiny vortex block. This has inspired me to make my first BBMG! Thanks

EDIT: almost as inspiring as the valve

All of you who are "inspired:"
It was so damn hard to make the block for this little monster that I seriously don't know if I'll ever make one this small again. Upscale yours to 1" SDR 21 or 1 1/4," those are the sizes that are easiest to make along with great performance. But DO make it a vortex, you'll be happier. My first strafer was also a vortex, the only cloud I've ever made was scrapped because of the crap performance compared to the vortexes.
Rmich, build yourself one yet?

Woah, I just realized I never cemented the thing together! Oh well, I'll just wait til it blows itself apart. :D
jack, the compressor fits in my pocket too, the 5 gallon tank + the motor takes up most of the room though, it doesn't leave much space for the gun itself.

Its actually pretty clean for something so small. You should find a way to hook up regulated 12 grams to it, Im pretty sure you can emptey a small bb chamber like that off a 12 gram.

I have a 12 gram adapter, but 12 grams are too pricey for me. If I want it portable I'll just hook up a regulated fire extinguisher.
