I am in the process of making a bbmg using an inline vortex. i have it all figured out except what to use for a barrel. thanks, tatertosser

an old weed sprayer neck pole thinggy works good for 6mm or my favorite a arrow shaft, i use graphite ones but i havto sleeve them in 8mm copper

yep graphite arrow shaft, they wat i would use

Buy a cheap airsoft gun and take the barrel out of it if its the 6mm BBs you want to shoot. If you are really desperate, use a bic pen.

What do you plan on shooting? That would help us out alot in coming up with specific ideas.

well a bbmg shoot bb's, so my guess is he is shooting bb's. arrow shafts work well for barrels by the way, they are like $6 at an archery shop.

I mean what size BBs.

you could probably get 1/6" brakeline. if you want to.

I was at a model shop the other day and I saw that they sell a whole range of aluminum and brass (i think) poles. I dont know what their proper use is but they have just about any size you could think of up to about 2cm diameter.

9/32" brakeline is pretty much the best you can get.
ID of brakeline: 6.03 mm
OD of BB: 5.93 mm

go to a rc shops, n ask for a peice of brass or aluminium with an id of 6mm, thats what i did, and now i have meters of it lying around!

well i plan on shooting the copperhead bb's you can get them at walmart for like 6 bucks for a big ol can of em. they are just generic bb's that you use with a standard bb gun.

Noname: is brakline really that small of an ID? thats a precicsion tightbore barrel............. guess i have to get myself some.........

he is shooting regular bb's .177 caliber (4.5mm). would be perfect if u could find an old bb gun to salvage the barrel out of, thats what i used.
btw i just paid $5 something for a box of 4000 bb's at walmart, kinda hi i thought.

A great fit is 1/4" rigid aluminum brakeline. It's just aluminum hydraulic tubing designed for use with compression fittings. The I.D. is 0.18", which is only .003" larger than a steel BB. A piece of paper is a little over .003" thick, so that's about .0015" slop on each side of the BB. Not noticeable at all. 8) I've used the stuff on a little single shot BB gun before and it worked perfectly. Put holes through tin cans rather easily.

BTW Spuddin, Wal-Mart rips you off on anything other than food. That's their cardinal rule, and it keeps their food prices low.

If it's performance you want, the easiest thing to get would be 1/4" brakeline and Daisy steel bbs. They are perfecly smooth and give you a slight increase in velocity.
