Does anyone know if somebody has mounted an airsoft gun to a RC plane or helicopter? It would be kind of impractical, but cool if done.

I think the best idea would be to have a custom-built plane, with the fuselage composed of large soda bottles that would double as an air chamber, then have a small solenoid valve attached to a cloud strafer. You could have the gun pointing to the side, gunship style:

alternatively, if your RC helicopter is a little bigger, you can fit 2 full auto 12 gauge shotguns to it

it violates the AMA rules, but yea it could be done. basicly strip it to the basics and have a servo pull the trigger.

There is actually a hobby of fitting bb guns to little R/C boats and tanks then using them fight mock battles.

Airplanes are rather more difficult to aim methinks...

well also u cant just strap a gun to a R/C helicoptor. becuase then the ballace would be off. but if u costomized it to fin in the middle of the helicpotor, then it might work.

not just that, but model boats are a lot more tolerant of extra weight and bulk when it comes to performance and handling characteristics.

in a model plane, every single gram is important, so, a little misalulation, and your RC modal plane crashes.

A cheap little aeg from walmart wouldnt be to bad weight wise, as long as your plane was of decent size. My friend has put a kitten in the fuselage of his plane and it still took off

Damn these politically correct times!
The very first hot air balloon was invented in 1783 by the Montgolfier brothers of Annonay, France. The first hot air balloon passengers were a chicken, duck and sheep. When the animals survived the trip, the Montgolfier brothers knew that people could ride safely as well. Two months later, the first two people took their maiden voyage on a Montgolfier hot air balloon, and the rest is history!

i think its more fun to try to shoot RC planes down with my airsoft AEG. i have a cheap 20 dollar air-hogs RC plane that flies when halph the wing is gone. its A BLAST!!! when you hit the plane, it looses stability and spirals for a little bit, and iy your a good flyer you can get out of it, otherwise it crashes in that perfect WWII movie style! (too bad theres no smoke).

anyway, i dont reccomend a plane that does that, its going to be hella confusing. if anything, drop bucketloads of bbs or something on your targets as you fly over. i think that would be easier to control and far more effective...

you could also hook a good AEG to a VEX kit, slap a magnifying scope on it, and have yourself a robotic sniper...... that can select fire........ i did this once in an airsoft war and it was great. people walked right by it, close enough the scope got all blurry. i jsut opened up on full auto..... one of them got hit, the other kid took refuge and hid behind a rock. i just drove the bot around.... and plus, you cant get the bot "out" so i just drove while he was shooting at me.......

it got called CHEAP though, wich i kinda see, and im not allowed to use it anymore. i use it now for target practice from my room when my parents send me there.......

i think you could buy one of those cheap $15 mini airsoft guns. they are very simple to reverse engineer, it would be very simple to mod the trigger to be electronically fired (as in no servos just a transistor). for the three i have lying i my basement there should only be 4 wires one motor one switch a battery holder and assorted springs and plastic pieces. i don't know if it would be practice i can imagine the carnage inflicted on an r/c copter by a decent AEG would be horrible. now im basically an expert when i comes to electronics but at the same time im very cheap and lazy, so what i would do is mod the gun to be fired by a transistor then buy a cheap r/c car an use the receiver in the car to trigger the gate of the transistor. then mod it to run off the heli's internal battery to reduce wieght. i think it could work in fact i know my method does work , i made a remote detonated mine using the same technique weight might become an issue if the heli's small though.

those mini-electrics.....

their rounds get blown off course by the slightest gust of wind. imagine a helicopter!

also, they really do kinda suck........ not gonna lie. if oyu got hit with it, you most likely wouldnt realize it...........

and my nearly 100% foam RC plane still has yet to cease to function, despite fact its taken a good 100 rounds to it.........

of course they suck the break esaily, but their cheap, you wouldn't waste a good airsoft gun on this,

but I got another Idea how about dump tank that opens via solinod, napalm bombing
