I'm wanna show my skils to a friend of my, so why not make a air rifle. I'm done with the technical drawing, only the degsin. Now are there two problems: dus somewhone now wich materials are the best for the barrel, bolt, en how can I make a magazine without losing air power?
Comments welcom.

it will work but not worth the effort, power will be very low and you're better off just buying an airsoft pistol. Make a pneumatic instead ;)

I guess you could use a ramrod to cock the piston mechanism rather than a break mechanism or a system where you pull the piston by a "slide". That might enable a more powerful spring to be used as you could bear down with your body weight.
You would need a slight restriction at the breech so that you don't push the ammo into the cylinder when it is actually loaded.
You would want a very reliable trigger mechanism and possibly a safety if you're going to push ammo down a cocked spring piston gun.
A barrel that unscrews to load would be better.

ah yes a spring powered bb gun i've tried to make one unless you can have a spring with like 100 pounds a least of thrust behind it your thing is just going to do what it did with mine.

Go 10 feet.

Edit- I don't want to quelch your spirits though i was like you once along time ago.(three months ago to be exact) and i kept on posting designs and asking if they worked.Frankly it's good to be on the teaching end now.Good luck to you Jaffe and...........

My best suggestion is to build a standard pneumatic with interchangeable barrels. You could have an extemely long one with a small bore for shooting BBs, or a shorter one with a larger bore for shooting bigger stuff. The length of the bore should maintain a 2:1 chamber-barrel ratio, by volume.

On an episode of Mythbusters, they cut a small hole in the base of the barrel, and slid some SDR pipe over it to make an easy-reload system. Other than that, I would just buy a $40 air rifle if you want semi-automatic functionality.

I have changed my plans and building a pneumatic. I want to make a simple valve so i begon drawing, wil this valve work good? I dont have a large collection of tools so i want to keep it simple. I have orderd a piece of very thick wood for the design :P .

it will work, I assume one would fire it by pulling on the yellow portion? still, it's not going to be terribly convenient to use or very efficient, consider building a piston valve or buying a QEV.

umm your not going to get a very good seal from just a wood suface however you could cover it in rubber and it would work

The problem is that the valve must be smal, and I have not a great budget  .

I have maded a design for the gun :P . I have made the most things such as the valve, the magazine. The hardest part is the let the magaine fit good in the gun, I dont want that my gun is filled with BB's :D .
