i just bough a 6.04 bore airsoft barrel and it has the notches for the hop up system cut into it. what i want to know is should i cut the last 1/2 of the barrel off to remove them or just leave it as it is? i dont plan on using hop up and just to let you know this barrel will be used in an inline bbmg

here is the picture of the notches (taken from a camera phone sorry)

i would. but then you would have to file out the bur made by the cut and that could mess the barrel up a little. i would do it though. good luck.

if you have a bevel grinder, cut the barrel off at the hop-up part, and make the inside of the barrel beveled, and most importantly MAKE SURE there is no leftover burrs and junk outside.......

Kudos for actually buying a real airsoft barrel.

Isn't that a barrel from those airsoft guns?

just use that end for a muzzle then you have a muzzle brake

i have a feeling it will affect the bbs trajectory they are just plastic bbs and the barrel is close to airtight so an uneven discharge of air just prior to exiting the barrel would probably put some odd spin on them... but im not sure. besides the barrel is defiantly going to be sleeved in something so no one would see the "muzzle break"

i bought the barrel of airsoftatlanta.com, its a 6.04 tight bore. but they sell them cheaper at <href> this place</a>, and they have 6.03s (which are better) . i only bought it at airsoft atlanta to save shipping cost (they were selling broken AEG M4s for $2 a piece!)
