Unrated PVC ABS

Can it be used in a BBMG. I'm asking this question because if I were to make a BBMG out of pressure rated PVC being English this could cost upto 100 pounds. I read somewhere that on a cloud BBMG with a compressor at 100psi 18psi was produced in the chamber. Would ABS or unrayed PVC take these pressures? Would it be safer to make a vortex?
Thanks in advanced :headbang:

yea it would hold.. abs can probly take like 25-30 psi. maybe even more because people have used it safely in combustions. (50-65 psi)

Aah thanks, It's just nice to know that I can make one if i wanted to. :headbang:

It should be fine and I really doubt it would fail.

I've used acrylic, which is not meant for impact resistance, that has 1/16" walls, and it hasn't failed. The most pressure I've been able to produce in a vortex strafer is around 25 psi.

It depends on how high of a flow you blowgun can produce

You might want to install a pop-off valve.
If you every jam something in the barrel the pressure in the gun is going to go to whatever the regulator on your compressor is set to in a second or so.
If you don't have a regulator on the compressor than I would say a pop-off is absolutely required.

Cool I don't have a compressor I will probally make a big chamber out of fire extinguishers(sp?) or something. What kind of pop off should I use? I mean what pressure?

I don't think a pop-off is really necessary, the likelyhood of having an airtight jam in the barrel is next to nothing, particularly since most tubes used as barrels are significantly larger in inner diameter than 4.4mm steel BBs - in my vortex BBMG with a tiny chamber and minimal dead space from the blowgun, the most pressure I got in the chamber from a 110 psi feed was 30 psi.
If you still want to use a pop-off for absolute safety (as are the ways of the UK nanny state, where soon everything will be covered in cottonwool
) then 25-30 psi will suffice.

yes i have used it before and it worked really well.
