The Robo Plinker

Miniature guns are novelty custom, unique, and sometime downright crude! Common construction materials often include pill bottles or pens. Show us your work!

This is a d!nky little mini combustion that I made about a week ago, and it's also my first "cannon" that I've posted here (too lazy to type up a topic about my other full-sized cannons :clown:)

The chamber is made from two bottles of Walgreens brand robitussin. The bottom of one of the bottles was cut off and then the two bottles were hot glued and taped together with some electrical tape. Ignition comes from a BBQ ignitor, installed on the cap of the back bottle.

The barrel is a 1/8" x 6" threaded brass pipe, which was filed down on one end and hammered into a 3/8" threaded brass hex nipple. And to make sure it sealed, I put some more hot glue around the back of the barrel where it goes into the 3/8" fitting. The 3/8" nipple threads into the end of the second pill bottle, and, since I'm a hot-glue fiend, I put some more hot glue around the joint

I might put a longer barrel on it, since the C:B ratio is pretty bad right now. Performance would probably look a lot better.

Anyways, enough talking. Here are some pictures:

And a short <a href="http://s119.photobucket.com/albums/o139 ... ">video</a>...

Ok, it's a decent mini, but why the "robo" in the name?

People call Robitussin "Robo" for short, and since my mini was made from bottles of robitussin.. :)

I like the neatly put together ignition and barrel.
Looking forward to seeing your next creation...

Pretty nice :) I like how it's kind of ghetto and neat at the same time. Good job and welcome to spudfiles

That's the fun part! You get to show off your creation to others and hear everybody's opinion. When you get a chance post them. That is how we have compiled an empire of ideas. Plus it will help you sleep better at night.
