300 winmag bullet casing mini coax

Miniature guns are novelty custom, unique, and sometime downright crude! Common construction materials often include pill bottles or pens. Show us your work!

After posting my keychain coax it was stated that it kinda looked like a bullet casing. Right then I knew I had to do it. I took a 300 winmag round and emptied the insides. Then drilled out the primer end and made a small coax out of it. The insides are almost identicle to my keychain gun in that is is a small piston housed inside a piece of brass tubing. The barrell is whatever size of brass tubing fits a .177 BB and is about 2 inches long.

To get the look of the bullet tip, I used epoxy putty.

It is interesting to note that I just bought a chrony today and I was testing it in my garage. My red ryder bb gun shoots at around 190 fps. This little thing averages around 230 fps at 400 psi. I was pretty proud of that little tidbit. I cant wait till I can get out and test some of my larger cannons .

Sick-nasty, at first glance it looks like a real bullet. That is awesome...

Nifty jook, another pocket sized cannon. That's some pretty nice performance for such a small bugger.....doesn't hurt you've got the 400 psi in there though....

I hope you removed the primer before you started drilling....

Haha, glad you followed through with my idea, it looks awesome!

Why not try making one in a bit of a reversed configuration (this is how I had originally thought it would have been done)

Have the shrader where the narrow bit of the cartrige is (not sure of it's name, but the bit that holds the bullet. Not sure what cartrige would match a shraeder... Sadly I've never had a chance to fire a real gun  ) You'd probably have to cut that part of the cartraige off, and replace it with the shreader.

Anyway, do that and have the barrel sitting where the primer would usually be (just have a hole, and have the barrel flush with the rear of the cartriage) This would make it look like a spent cartriage, although the front of it would be threaded. So you'd fill/pilot it from the end where the bullet used to be, and the projectile would leave from where the primer was.

What sort of noise does this thing make when it fires?
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Very nicely done. You're turning into the master of minis at this rate.

...Now do one that fits in a .17 HMR casing.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Now make a tiny, gun-shaped projectile for it. A bullet that shoots guns... :D

You know what you should have done is used that idea of JSR's for the paintball cartridge, where the barrel ended and then then enters the ammo chamber, which is much larger than the actual barrel, just below the spot where the bullet is normally inserted, and insert the schrader so its level where with the bottom of the cartridge was.

Replicate the rim and insert an air soft bb or depending on caliber something else light, and you can convert any rifle to a bb gun...
