I dont see why you would ever use epoxy when you have the option to solder, its far quicker, easier, and stronger atleast when joining things that are meant to be soldered like brass tubes. (no offense jsr :D )

Epoxy is by far easier than using solder. With solder, the parts have to fit a certain way, and if you don't have a metal piston, you cant solder the schrader. Plus with epoxy, if you make a mistake, you can wipe off the part with denatured alcohol and its good as new. With solder, you are't so lucky.

Back on topic, If you want to keep your barrel centered while the epoxy is drying, make a barrel spacer and glue it to you barell. Or you can do what I do and make a duct tape barrel spacer, they are cheap and effective.
Yeah, it's that important.

Just bought the parts for the gun, a rubber pencil eraser fits perfectly would it make a decent piston, Im worried about the barrel cutting into it.
That is all.

I don't think it will seal unless it is one of the really rubbery ones, also it might get cut by the barrel. Do they make rubber stoppers small enough for you?

you could also epoxy the seal to the barrel, and use a solid piston, along these lines:
