I have some 2inch pipe but it has no psi rating and due to being broke and a stubborn dad (he doesn't think it matters) thats all i have, will it be ok to use it i water test it to 100psi and doesn't explode? ill probably only use it at 60 anyway.
thank you : )
no psi rating :(
I would test it to 3 times it's intended working pressure just to be safe, and be *EXTREMELY* careful with it if you want to use it for pressure. Probably retire it after a year or two just to be safe.
OR, you could just spend a few dollars and get a piece that has already been tested and certified for pressure use. To ease your dad's stubborness, take a look at some of the rather fatal looking PVC failure tests that have been posted here, and show him what might end up embedded in your torso if this thing fails.

Tell your dad using pressure rated pipe is important, reguardless of what he thinks. You can be seriously injured from unrated pipe exploding. You can lose an eye or have your hearing damaged. YOU CAN DIE from a hit to the neck.
Really, a ten foot peice of 2" costs what, like 10-$15? You should be able to buy it by the foot, also. I'll bet you can scrounge enough money if you look.

Where do you line fnord that 2" costs that much. A 10 foot stick of 2 inch rated is only $4, here.
Trying to figure out how to make a SCUBA first stage regulator work for portable charging station. If only that pesky job thing didn't keep eating up all my time...

Ohio. I think it costs about $10 where I live. A ten foot stick of 1" costs 3-$4 nomally.
It's ok though, since I don't use pvc that extensively. (Come to think of it, the only gun I've made entirely out of pvc was my strafer..)
