Make a Stun Gun!
Hey I've noticed all these places on the net that offer instructions on how to build a stun gun. I'm competant enough to be able to build one but I don't understand enough to be able to look at a schematic and say, "Yep, that'll work." I'm hoping that somebody has some experiance with this because I want to try a stun gun ignition but I don' have any where near me that sells them and I can't buy them online (no credit card
)

whtas one of the websites u used??
v3ngance; i know the basics behind making one of these. i can find you a page that gives instructions on making an 1800 Volt syun gun with a highly osciscillating current, that is it goes zapzapzapzap rather than zzzaaaaaaaaaaapppppppppppppppp. get it?
i'll get the page soon.
ps 1800 volts will jump 1cm

julz, have u actually made a stungun?
ok. this runs off a 9volt battery. the theory is that the electricity goes to a transformer which puts the voltage up to 1800volts. this is very simple. what the IC1 does is create fast ppulses of electricity to go out from pin number 3. these reach a transistor, represented by Q2. the transistor is like a small switch. when the current goes into it it lets electricity run from the transformer straight back to the battery. then the transformr can do its work. with the pulsing of the transistor/switch the transformer turns on and off very fast. this will create sparks that jump between the electrodes.

when connecting a 55 timer ignore the layout of the pics. the legs are numbered and you can connect the appropriate wires to the legs by number, the pics confuse me.
also learn a bit of electronice from any kids electronics site. that should do it.
hope this helps.
bye!
Ok I'll head on over to radioshack 2morrow but it looks to me that u can make the voltage higher jus by getting a *bigger?* transformer and the end of the circut.
I can build things from schematics I just have trouble remembering what each little thing does
By the way thnx a bunch
