For my next cannon i plan on making a hybrid. But before doing so i would like to get my plans prefected to make sure i dont leave anything out that i would like to incorparate into my gun. I have drawn up two different designs both share alot of simalartes.
GUN PLAN 1
Gun Plan 1 the plans speak for them selfs. The reason i used two different fans is becasue i have two and i thought it would move are faster also. The reason why everything is attached to the end caps is so if you mess you only have to by new end caps and not a whole new chamber. I didnt draw where the fuel goes in because you can do that any where on the gun. I was planning on using a propane set up and maybe a place for the air compressor fitting (to make it a hybrid) on both gun plans.
KEY:
A=Sainatary Tee
B=4 to 1 1/2 Brushing
C=3" or 2" End Cap w/ Fan
D=4" End Cap w/ Fan
Red=Fan
Green=Nuts and Bolts
Blue=Wires
GUN PLAN 2
This gun plan i like better. It only uses one fan in the chamber. One thing that i will proably add is small fan inbetween part C and E. The flow/ check vavle is so that you can press on the screw to let the exhaust out. But when the gun explodes it wont go out vavle until you press on the screw.
KEY:
A=Sainatary Tee
B=4 to 1 1/2 Brushing
C=1" Male Adapter
D=4" End Cap w/ Fan
E=Flow/ Check Vavle
Red=Fan
Green=Nuts and Bolts
Blue=Wires
Pink=Flow/ Check Vavle

i really like the double fan ideas and the guns in general, i dont really understand hybrids fully yet, or at least not to the point where i would make one, but they look good to me.
Ya at first i thought hybrids were things with lots of electronic stuff and wires but all a hybrid is when you increase both air and fuel. Maybe this will help normally in a regular combustion you have x fuel to x air lets say there both 1. What if you could double triple ..... the fuel mixture. Well thats what a hybrid is. I think you should have some idea of it know. One more thing to raise the fuel level you simply add more fuel to raise the air level you pump in air.

i know all that stuff, i jsut dont understand some other simple things, like ratios and what a union is. i prolly could build a hybrid, i just choose not to risk it.
dude, you're asking for death here, you dont know much about hybrids at all, first of all you need to know how to solvent weld properly, and also you need ALL SCH 80 PARTS!!!!!!!! there are no sanitary tee's in 80, there's not many that are pressure rated in sch 40 either. you're talking about fans, when a hybrid builder should know taht fans wont do anything in a hybrid chamber. you're showing cleanout caps, which all of them are non pressure rated, a bell reducer, again non pressure rated, until you really know what you're talking about dont build a hybrid unless you feel like being comatose for a few years. go to http://www.spudtech.com and register on the forums, ask questions there, get answers from experience people, some of which have built hybrids, read the whole hybrid section before attempting to build one.
and as far as just replacing the caps if you mess up, thats bullshit, if your hybrid goes the whole chamber is likely to go, including you if you're near by, and fyi, PVC shrapnel doesnt show up on X-rays so you dont want it in your skin

It would work for just a regular combustion wouldnt it. I didnt know if i wrote it in the origninal forum but i ment to ask if it would work for a hybrid or if it wouldnt. Can you sleve the chamber to stregthen the walls?
Ummmm what are you talking about ive built a pneumatic and used propane before. If you can tell me where you got this infromation. Sorry but i get mad when people think they know all about me from a forum (obviously people think they do).spudshot wrote:seeing as how you've never used propane or built a pneumatic, i'd also say you need more experience
