help with airsoft gun
recently i have taken interest in airsoft guns and have built a few out of nerf guns that hurt really bad. what i am looking to do now is make a long range gun that is very accurate and also portable. has anyone made anything similar or have any suggestions or ideas? any help is appreciated
you enjoyed messing with the nerf guns as well?
i think me and you would get along fine. anyways to business. i agree with the post above me. Look around the cannons section in airsoft, they have a few neat guns in there, some of them are even automatic, but they require constant air sources, similar to paintball guns.

I converted a Nerf gun into an airsoft gun as well. I used an "Eagle Eye" and took the gun apart to get to the chamber. I then removed this little pin that blocks you from sticking stuff into the chamber and placed a small straw through the hole then taped a larger straw (from In-N-Out burger) around the smaller one.
It shoots about 45 feet at most but it hurts when you get hit.
I made another one for my friends younger brother using a newer model Nerf gun. The newer ones have a more foolproof design than the older models so it required me to drill out some parts. I had to break this little stem out of the barrel then drilled the air passages out to get more airflow. I think the straw I used this time probably came from Vons supermarket (Safeway for those of you back east) Anyway, try to find a straw that the bb will fit in snugly. For this conversion, I tore the suction cup off one of the darts to fit the straw through then wrapped tape around it to help it stay in the barrel of the Nerf gun. You can also remove the "airsoft adaptor" and load regular Nerf darts as well so you have a dual purpose device.
After finding out some brands of "Green Gas" that you use in airsoft guns contain Propane; I also had the crazy idea of construction a "Gas Explosion Airsoft Gun" which is basically a mini-combustion. I've messed around with a prototype built using the same straw I used for my Nerf conversions and a medicine bottle but I planned the final product to be self loading using a bolt action.
I had an even more crazier idea to use those .22 loads for power acuated nailers (a special nailgun that uses gunpowder in the mentioned loads to drive nails into concrete) to fire an airsoft bb at over 3000FPS. Of course, it would be more of a firearm by then.
