Psh, I set Gameshark to always have that one on.

Back on topic. Being that this story isn't from a source I would consider reliable, I'm assuming that it's satire. Humourous, but untrue I'm afraid.

Well the interesting thing to me (and for you statistics guys), That's the first female spudder I've heard of here.

Which would mean 100% of female spudders...

= If you see a female with a spud cannon LOOK OUT!!!

As far as I am concerned, one of the best members of this forum is a female.
(And I am serious, this is not a joke about Ben or anything...)
LOL the Ben thing (Don't know you Ben so ya can't get offended).
Well then still 50% so still... LOOK OUT!!! (JKing)

It is fun to take a girl shooting or spudding plus then your in some remote area and they would probably love the idea/power of something that big going off.
But maybe it's not a good idea to fully instruct them.

I know a couple girls that would probably think it was cool. Not many though.

Wow, it's ignorance like this that accounts for all of the stupidity in the world today. People in places of authority jump to conclusions based on what they believe happened, and others believe them, thus adding to the mob of unhappy citizens. These idiots just point the finger at the easiest thing possible (the potato gun) and say it's the cause for all of the trouble. And on top of that, the 11-year-old builder of this perfectly legal device is being indicted as an accomplice to murder. This is just ridiculous... [/rant]

I have done multiple searches on the internet, and can find no mention of this story aside from this guys blog, and look at what it says it's filed under.

Guys, pay attention to what you read. What's ridiculous is the ineptitude and stupidity some people display when blindly accepting everything they read.

Those are the ones I would want anyway.
Besides that's why I mentioned the remote location part.
If they like you they may just be looking for an excuse to go somewhere like that to "shoot".

Hope my jokes didn't offend any female spudders who may be out there.
I think females into spudding are cooool (if more than two exist).

BTW if this is some made up story by the paper it's in that newswriter deserves a taser!!!

Also BTW I saw a really cool video of chicks shooting full auto stuff on youtube it was awesome  8)

Wow, another amazing article.

Truly shows how inept people can be.

Im just mad because the boy was arrested for being an accomplice. Seroiusly, just because people make guns, and people are murdered with guns everyday (not sure) so does this mean that gun companies should be arrested for being accomplices? No, that what i thought. So that makes him being arrested completely invalid unless he made it to kill the doctor which we already know he didnt because it was for a science fair project.

You know what they say:
"Guns dont kill people, people kill people, or in this case, spudguns and apples dont kill people

EDIT: I just noticed that it was posted under fake news, so then why put it up anyway?

The text from the about section of the guy's blog.

"Potvin Newsly on the Potvin Report is intended to be a comical web log. It is my take on anything I see, read, converse about, or think of that is funny (to me). It is basically my diary of funny. The purpose of posting it to the internet is to be able to easily share the posts with my friends. It will remain a publicly viewable web log, however, as I am not one to turn around any anonymous readers."

Well, my first thought was, "why in the world is she holding a fully-automatic weapon like that?"

My second thought is that the suppressor is illegal in most countries.

Yeah, this is most definitely fake, I have never heard of an apple silo to begin with, and I couldn't find any news articles about a man being crushed by one.

Another reason that this is fake is that they wouldn't arrest an 11 year old boy for something like that, it just wouldn't happen.

That's not a suppressor in the video, it's a barrel shroud (to protect the firer's hand from heat) the barrel can get red hot sometimes.

With the legal stuff they have a "class 3" liscence to own autos. That would be the biggest concern.

Unless there's a solenoid mounted to the trigger and a switch for push button trigger and another switch attached to the bolt
( so it only fires when the button is pressed and the bolt is also closed=on solenoid)

As for why she's holding it just watch the video, If I have to explain it you wouldn't understand it!!!

Got to go to work now, I work in restaurant business and it's friday :(

Well, I suppose it would have helped if I hadn't seen the words "Fake news" under the title when I was reading it.

If you read enough to make it "obvious" it's a prank then that's one thing - but I'm concerned that some won't read it in full, or will just see the title in a list of headline - that's going to just make for negative publicity.
In fact, of all the reports about spudguns I have ever read, this is probably the one I consider the most inappropriate - a fake report that paints spudguns in a bad light for no reason at all.

Hardly true. You can't take one isolated incident (even a real one, and certainly not a fake one) and extrapolate it. If you go to the Eiffel tower, and someone jumps off it in the hour you're there, you can't then say "Someone jumps off the Eiffel tower every hour".

It's also unbelievably sexist to say such a thing as that - why should a girl/woman with a spudgun be any less responsible with it than a man?
Given that they don't seem to suffer from the same macho attitude as men have around such things, I would even expect the reverse.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
