That's somthing I thought after looking at the post the second time  I don't use that much I'm not easily excited.

!!!!!!!!!!! FREAK OUT FREAK OUT FREAK OUT I DON'T THINK IT IS RATED TO THAT MUCH PRESSURE FREAK OUT FREAK OUT FREAK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I needed to do that.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

CAPSLOCK spam? Could you at least pretend to not be 13 years old?

ekhm... most QEVs are rated to 10 bar... AFAIK that one is rated to 10bar... I've used 1/2" QEV at similar pressures without any problems - no one says it is 100% safe to do. if you do it you do it at your own risk
since his QEV is 3/8" we may assume it can take more than 1/2" one

As POLAND_SPUD said, this qev is rated to 10bar. As this qev is the piston kind, it can take a lot more pressure than the diaphram kind, and im not afraid to go a bit over the rating. To be honest, after i put that qev on for piloting, i have only popped of a very few shots at full pressure, because that gun is f<cking loud now. at only 8 bar and above, hearing protection is needed

If the QEV is only rated to 150psi and you exceed the rating to even 1,000 psi it will still not explode.
The seals would fail and it would leak violently. Metal is not as brittle as PVC.

@POLAND_SPUD, 120-150 psi. The bazooka is a piston gun piloted by a QEV, 2" piston, 1.5" porting. Before I triggered it via blowgun I tested it up to 260 psi with a ball valve. (Max pressure rating on hose is 290 psi.)

@Carlman, The top one is a M2hb .50 cal replica. It is a vortex block with "coffin" internals.
Image
The block itself it a piece of 1.5" steel tubing.

(Block rotated sideways for picture. Shroud was also installed.)

Those are some clean guns you have there base45. I especially like the breechloading rifle. You should enter that one in the showcase...maybe slap a paint job on there.

Nice work!

My 7 yr old wants to build a rocket, so we researched that a bit and started making some plans for a single stage, solid fuel rocket. He was disappointed that we were not going to build it this weekend so I showed him some youtube videos... still not satisfied, I made this simple pray-n-spray, my first. He was, at last, satisfied for this weekend.
Sorry for the grainy pic, the digital camera developed problems this weekend, it needs to be replaced.

Simple: hard cardboard roll that contained some posters that were sent UPS for the chamber and barrel. Screwdriver pushed through pre-drilled holes to act as an ammo stop and in effect, make the separation between chamber and barrel. The ammo is a ball from a ball pit that we have all over the house thanks to my youngest, Zed. Fuel: I first used nail polish remover and it worked okay, but was not very consistent... it is a spray-n-pray after all. I then grabbed my 1 lb propane tank and gave it a few seconds of mixed air/propane for a sure fire each time. Ignition: bbq lighter lit then inserted in hole near end of chamber.

I only got a few real loud booms, but the kids were greatly impressed anyway- it was something they could hold and manage with only minimal adult supervision.
