Dry ice in a burst disc style gun.
I believe dry ice can make very high pressures, upwards of 1500 psi when heated.
Dry ice super critical, interesting stuff.
My topic may be old news, but I believe this method could be done very efficiently.
Somebody already doing this, well kinda.
My thoughts are, an all metal cannon, burst disc cannon, capable of holding pressures upwards of 2000 psi. A electrically heated dry ice evaporation chamber.
Your thoughts? Just talkin out loud here...

One problem would be predicting when it would go off. I it would be better to say hook it up to a 3000 psi HPA or Nitrogen tank.

You cannot fire gun using only water, so water+dry ice is ONE method of propulsion not a mix of two.

To be technical, water vapor from boiling water is steam. You get it by adding heat to water.
Dry Ice is solid CO2. It skips the liquid phase at atmospheric pressure. To get CO2 "steam" gas, you take CO2 solid and add heat. The heat source can be anything hotter than solid dry ice, including water, so Dry Ice + water = Dry Ice + heat.
