some questions about high pressure
im planing on a paint ball build and i have the idea for the most part but i have some questions about the pressure and if the parts will hold up. its going to be a semi auto pneumatic gun and it to be able to stand up to 450-500 psi (mostly shot around 300) from what i have been reading it seems entirely possible. For the most part the qev's dont seem to go over a max psi of 150 that doesnt seem to be a problem but im wondering if there are any that i should stay away from or any in particular that anybody else has had success with. also i want to use a modified blowgun (http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/files/3 ... am_106.png) as the trigger but im also worried about the pressure im wondering if anybody has had success with this trigger at high pressure. i would like to avoid a slide valve but if thats the only safe option im willing to use it. any suggestions?

If you're going to exceed the rating I would definitely go for a QEV that is milled into a block as opposed to a casting, a lot more meat on it.stklp06 wrote:For the most part the qev's dont seem to go over a max psi of 150 that doesnt seem to be a problem but im wondering if there are any that i should stay away from
Cast:
Milled in block:
As to blowguns, they will typically leak above 500 psi.
For semi auto, a three way valve is the most efficient option. A slide valve is one way of achieving this, but there are others. Eat your heart out: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/directi ... 20438.html
