A supressor is very illegal, but for info purposes and a great way to make a "barrel extention" look here :P

Just use the same basic idea and scale it for whatever size your barrel is. Remember, with a combustion you will probally have to replace your filling every once in a whial, due to the fact that it will get crispy.

thanks for the reply.....but why would the suppresser be illegal?? i mean all it is doing is taking a bit of the noise away from the cannon....and you aren't shooting them at people anyways....

the police can't legally take the cannon away from you anyways....its not considered a firearm 8)

or at least thats the way it is in Canada

In Canada they could take it away from you if it exceeded the max power limit for BB guns (500 joules I think?).

And the reason they are illegal here in the states is because the law states that any device that can be attached to a real firearm that alters it's report by 2DB or more is considered a supressor and it's illegal.

sorry for the harsh sounding reply.....but the max limit is 500 fps, and even adding an addition to the barrel could change the noise level 2 db.....i mean my cannon is significantly quieter now that i added an extra 2 foot to the barrel

Well the 2db thing is how the law defines it... a piece of tape could make a 2db difference :P

well, a potato cannon is not considered a firearm in the states depending on how it is used (shot at people) so the supressor doesnt really apply.

at least thats what ive heard.

Correct, it isn't considered a firearm, but they consider an illegal supressor anything that COULD be attached to a real firearm.

You probally don't have to worry about getting in trouble... I think the laws more for people making great supressors for large rifles in a shop...
