I have seen several drop type mortar designs on the spudtech forum and I thought of a better way to make one. First of all rather than using any kind of ball it would use a D-Cell Battery in a 1 1/4" SCH40 pipe. The Mortar would use a safety pin (probably a 5/16" bolt) and a pull chord in order to drop the battery for added safety. When the battery slid down the barrel it would hit two electrodes (bright green) that would create the low voltage circuit of a taser. In other words... rather then using a switch to activate the taser you could simply close the circuit with the flow of electrons though the metal in the battery. These electrodes would be made of two 1/4"x1" bolts threaded into the side of the gun (the threads would be created using a 1/4" tap). Once this circuit is closed it would activate the taser which would cause a spark in the high voltage gap (bright blue) which would ignite the fuel in the chamber. I may use propane or just normal aerosols in the chamber. The diagram should sum up this explanation.

/The design is really nothing new, although I dont think that kind has ever been built. Also, you can resize images in MS paint.

I realize this idea of a mortar is not new. But I saw a post by theexp on spudtech with a similar design and they were trying to come up with a better way to activate the switch. The switch is the only part that's new about it.

I was debating wether to use two fans or a matress inflator and a fan. Probaly the later option. I haven't been able to start on mine, becuase I havn't found a pressure rated 3" T fitting.

I love that design! My design is actually only a slight modification of your design, so i credit you with the overall idea. I'm curious to see how well your cannon works when it's finished. Also I'd like to know how the projectile on your design is able to flip the switch without leaving a gap for pressure to escape in the barrel (hense my reason for the switch modification in my design). I hope to see a post of your finished cannon soon.
