I've been trying to think of one for RPG, and the WMD acronym is awesome!joannaardway wrote:With a nod to my last post, I bring common military acroynms with a spudding twist:
RPG - Recreational Produce Gun
LAW - Lawn Artillery Weapon
WMD - Weapon of Mashed Destruction
FAMAS - Fast Acceleration Mashed Ammunition System
And now one that isn't based on a "weapon's" acronym:
APC (Armoured Personel Carrier) - Advanced Produce Cannon
beautiful work!
SABOT
Surprisingly Accurate Blaster of Tubers

I'll point out the WMD one isn't mine - it's an old one that's been roaming for years. I just noticed it hadn't been posted yet.
The others were ones I'd been rolling around my mind since my earlier post - they are "mine", but that's not to say they haven't been done before in a similar fashion - I just don't know about them.
I was trying to think of something for UAV (Unmanned aerial Vehicle), but it escaped me.
@Hotwired: Good one.
Bonus points for anyone who thinks of an acronym that matches a well-known one, or like Hotwired has done - uses the letters of a well-known word as if it was an acronym.

For this topic, would anyone mind if the names posted were used for a cannon (credit going to the "thinker" of course).
Unfortunately, I can't think of any right now. Does anyone know of a spud-gun related world that starts with "u"? Also, I like hotwired's use of an acronym, and wondering if anyone was thinking of names that use cannon-related words like "spud" or "tater"?

Great - I link to it for reference, then it gets kicked up.
Next time, I won't bother.
