Oh it's like a big bloody chemical reaction it's like the surfice melts and then when they join together there like one? AH i dono some one help me here whats the prosess so he can look it up on wiki?
Well any way it stops it from blowing apart in your hand. YES always use primer!!! Your safteys at stake mate!

I just saw this video on youtube...this guy makes a combustion WITHOUT priming yet it stays in 1 piece after shooting.he just puts the PVC cement

It softens the surface so that the cement can 'melt' the plastic together. Without primer the cement won't be able to chemically melt the plastic effectively and it won't bond with a strong join.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

So that means the cement "melts" the plastic togeher.The primer helps the cement stick to the fittings.But then again, the pipes and fittings are made for each other, and even using the cement by itself helps it to get tightened evn more.

Yeah now your getting the idear!!
PS yeah it will work and hold with just cement but it wont last that long after a few goes the heat build up stuff the cement and the bond comes loose! hence they blow apart! trust me dude you dont want that happening! IT REALY HURTS!!!

In Australia you can pick them up at bunnings in a twin pack for like 15 bucks ands its enough to build a few cannons! I've done like 6 and i got heaps left!!

I live in Singapore..kinda hard to find stuff here for spudguns...have to go ard the whole place trying to find parts.Btw I'm also a student..low on funds. and can I put hoe clamps on the joints so they won't blow(if I don't use primer)?

yes yes joint probely wont explod if you don't prime them :roll: that doesn't make it safe, just buy it primer is cheap and it will several times longer then a can of pvc cement since it doesn't dryout as much.

And why might that be? by the way IF I had accidently used DWV for a pneumatic, how much pressure can it take?

I dono about pneumatic cannons but i dont think they could handle anything over 100 psi dont take this for gosple but i remember someone saying that some where!
