Right you are Sir.

But you can be certain I won't be watching Big Brother... utter TV trash.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Same.

..Channel4 lose hundreds of thousands of viewers each time they air a new Big Brother series. Surely they must have got the message by now..

i much prefer quality programs such as Harry and paul (friday night 9.00 BBC1) which is hilarious, definitly my favourite program at the moment.

but big brother is just boring, the problem is they have done it all already lots of times, so there is nothing new or exciting (although it never really was exciting  )

and as for our excess of CCTV, i have no problem with it as i don't plan on comitting any crimes... although i will have a problem if it morphs into a george orwell's 1984 system of surveilence as i won't be able to spud!

Actually these days, I hardly watch any TV. It's just about limited to Top Gear, New Tricks, occasionally the odd episode of The Simpsons or Scrapheap Challenge and if there's an interesting documentary... maybe.

Given that neither Top Gear or New Tricks are on the TV at the moment, I'm scarcely watching anything except for the odd DVD.

@ALIHISGREAT: That's kind of what I think about speed cameras - what exactly are people so fussed about them for, except if they're planning on speeding?

My own gripe with them is that the government has largely relied on just them for traffic control - and they cost a lot of money to put up, which would be better employed with some other methods of traffic management to round out their policing of the laws.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Greetings from /k/,

It's pretty sad how low your country's government is willing to stoop in a pathetic attempt at curbing crime and violence in your country, all because of an isolated incident involving Martin Bryant. First real guns, now toy guns. I don't think even the UK has achieved that high of a level of fascism yet.

My sympathies for you guys having to deal with a Gun-Grabbing Police State. Makes me glad I live in Texas, where we don't get persecuted for such bullcrap (although our next president, regardless of party affiliation, will no doubt continue to transform our "free" country into a Statist one). Our Constitution supposedly guarantees protection of certain natural rights, including the right to keep and bear arms, but today both parties want to trample on freedom and liberty.

SuperHappyChinaman, thank you for posting a post worthwhile of the topic, unlike the Big Brother/ UKTV posts.

I was almost going to lock the topic, so i'm giving you guys one more chance to stay on topic.
