instead of buying a regulator for useing co2 why not just use a safety pop of valve (15 bucks) instead?

The higher the pressure the cooler the co2 is, so when it enters the chamber it will be so cold it might cause the tank to burst

I dont think it gets colder with the higher pressures(i might be wrong) but like in paintball when it decompresses it gets colder because the liquid is turning into a gas. I guess it would depend on how big the chamber you were trying to fill.

Yeah when I used my co2 pistol sometimes I would take it out and gas would spray out then I would put it down for a sec leave comeback and it would be coverd in ice.(picket it up once got some minor frost bite hurt like a small burn he he)
NOTE: Maby it had to do with rapid decompresion(sp?) or something like that.

i doubt a pop off valve would have enough flow to vent the excess CO2 fast enough before it would blow

How about two pop off valves or three(mady two or three would be dangerouse(sp)to the chamber??) that will vent the pressure fast eh?

yeah, but it'll cost you just about as much as a regulator, the pop off valves around here are like 15 bucks a piece

Plus you'd waste CO2 bein blown off insted of kept inside the bottle.

Why don't you just use a burst disc? Or have an valve that would open at a certain pressure? Are there valves that do that?

by pyromanic13
because a burst disk would relese all pressure
instead of buying a 150 buck reg of sud tech could'nt I just mount a classic paintball reg?

Sorry, I meant use a burst disc as a valve
, at least it would be effiecent

cause I want to be able to predict/control when it fires

Just mount a manometer( pressure gauge) and stop filling at the desired pressure...how difficult can that be???
