break barrel breach loading?

I've tried this type of breech in a gun (that can't be discussed because of forum rules)
without any rubber seal it was airtight!!! just metal to metal.I think it's because the way the barrel rotates..it can apply a lot of force onto the seal.
When done correctly it will "jam" shut, not needing anything to keep it closed.

You could have a repair coupling behind the break with a spring behind it. The hinge that the barrel is attached to could also have a spring to open it when the repair coupling is pulled back.

One sec and I'll make a diagram...

Crazykid, take a look at mine, it's similiar to Brian's but with a few twists to make it work on a pneumatic. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/goats-gun-t7859.html
Any questions just ask me.

A screw type coupler isn't needed to make it air tight but it does simplify the building and alignment. The type in the diagram will work but won't be as air tight as a screw on.
Crazykid,Nerf footballs are always fun for a 2" barrel.Or the old fashioned Spud :)
