I was just looking over Instructables and found this:

It see this as having many applications in this hobby.

To much possibilities for inconsistencies for my taste. Voids, weak spots due to impurities in different plastic bags. Fun for crafts but I my self wouldn't trust it for anything important.

I'll give you 8 out of 10 on the find!

That looks like it would make a reasonable vortex block.

The first one is good for large amounts, for example i am using it to fix m chamber in m stock so it doesnt flop around, the seconds one is for smaller amounts, the aceton can be recovered, like making bullets. Gasoline also works.

Edit: PCGUY told me once about a trade mark inside the url that makes a post disappear. I couldn't find it myself but I removed the url tag from John's post and it showed up???

This could be useful for making custom parts for my spudgun (i.e. useless cool stuff, nothing that would be under pressure or heat).

It would just need a good paint job...

It looks hard enough to be used as a vortex block or ammo. It might be able to be a piston. I could also see this being useful for aesthetic purposes. A lot cheaper than epoxy and if it doesn't turn out right you could just remelt it.

Hhahah, that video of the Styrofoam plastic. That's how you make homemade napalm... except pure acetone, mixed with some gas does a better job. Makes a consistent clear goo instead of a white blob.

You can dissolve ALOT of styro foam in aceton/gasoline/a mixture of both, adjust the consistency on the thing you want to make, also this stuff is very sticky and especially in a satureated solution can make a HUGE mess. I woudl recomend doing this out side and only with things you dont mind getting full of flamable goo. All other thigns you need to know are in the instructables, and look into the advanced way of makign the patato plastic(which involves modding a pressure cooker), it is more presice and makes better plastic. Both plastics have a better consistancy than the first idea of this thread and both are easyly machined(while i would recomend the styrofoam plastic for pistons and the like) and both can be dyed WHILE manufacturing(of coarse oyu cna pain them but that would be the harder way IMHO)
