hey guys
ive been searching and been checking out various albums pictures and posts from the Pneumatic Cannon Showcase and the Combustion Cannon Showcase and ive been comparing which cannons from both topics contains the best velocity, look, materials and power as im planning to make a new cannon very soon as i have finished my first cannon here:
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/my-firs ... 17951.html
can anyone post some topics on very good cannons here as i'am compiling all the best ideas here into my new cannon just to get some new ideas going.
I'm not trying to steal everyone designs encase some people mite think so but also to see what the best cannons on Spudfiles are and look like and also to get some new ideas

"Very good cannon" is many times in the eye of the beholder.

Find the features you like. Power is one, so one of the large piston designs would probably work fine. Breech loading, rapid fire, full auto, etc are all options with various construction and performance issues. Most basic variations are well covered. Gas Gun Design Tool is free and can give a rough idea of how well various designs are expected to work.

Most people here post to share ideas and many would be honored if they thought their design was worthy of duplication.

Hybrids and propane metering are a couple ideas shared, copied and improved on along with sprinkler valve mods.

The ability to copy is often limited to the builders skill and tools.

Well it will be your cannon, you should be the one spec'ing it out. If you don't feel you know what good features are or aren't, then it's likely you need a little more preparation and study time in the spudgun hobby.

Give us a design to chew on. We'll help you from there.

Well I based my second gun off that and made it a combustion, and i got this:

If you want a "Best of the Best" list, I suggest a good start would be looking at the "Good technical examples" Spudwiki page, which is a list of those cannons which everyone should know.

It's mostly my own list, but I think most people trust my judgement on these things. However, people are still welcome to add to it themselves, as it's on the Spudwiki - but I think it's only MrCrowley that has so far.

Thinking about it, given the amount of time since that page was last updated with a new cannon, I should probably do another trawl of the forum and find the new things which people should know about.

Not a problem, that's what the list is there for.

Just a word of advice, it's not necessary to quote the whole post you're replying to - it's generally best to cut it down to just the bits you actually need to quote.

HEAL, by Ragnarok. Because I'm a shameless self-promoter.

On that note: check out the one to be added to this list in a short while:
