What could I use as a handle for my spud gun? I know wye fittings make decent handles. Would that be best to use or are there any good alternatives out there?
Looked on ultimatespudgun.com, they have a pistol grip thing there but I don't want to pay $300.

Basically I'm looking for a cheap way to make or a place to buy a good handle for my gun.

Some people will make handles out of wood, these can be shaped to whatever you like if you have the time and materials.

On my current build I am using 1" PVC and two tees held on with hose clamps. The PVC will also house my ignition system and help to hide wires.

i simply used a 1.5 " T with the top half cut off .it has enough space to fit the piezo ignitor & the switch i use to run my fan & the batteries too then clamped it on with hose clamps

Thanks for the ideas so far. I need some time to thing about it, but I'm leaning towards DonTheLegends idea of using wood. I'm good working with wood and knives. Maybe carve out a nice handle, stain, and epoxy on.
Little much work though, so I'm still very open to your ideas.

My combustion launchers have had this same handle design. It works great.

Problem with that design with me is that I want to be able to shot my gun more like you shot rifles rather than hip shooting.

Or, go to Home Depot and look in the paint section next to the paint sprayers, and get a $25-$50 heat gun. Use it to bend and shape your PVC. I used to do it all the time for my robotics team, and it's a godsend for spudding.

try an airsoft gun grip. if you get the kind that is for your trigger hand then they will be hollow (they are made to house the motor) so you can put your ignittion system in it

you could try fimo, its modeling clay that JoergS uses for some low-cost slingshots

There's wood, or you could get an M16 handle and epoxy/rail it in place

make a wooden one... duh

Get an inexpensive picatinny rail, then you can get an m16 style handle.

Squeeze a large piece of modeling clay until it fits your hand the way you want it when you're ready to fire. Do some trim on the clay until it looks smooth and still fits your hand well. Either cast a plaster mold or use epoxy to make a mold (which will be used many times, so its not a waste...) in two halves. Cast a mold of the clay, vacuum mold it, or whatever suits your fancy. It will be the best fit for your hand and you can make several handles from it.
