I have an F.I.P thread ball valve and was wondering how i could thread it into my 4'' pvc chamber. I dont think there is such thing as an F.I.P. tap so i was wondering if i could just drill a hole on the pvc a little smaller than the diameter of the thread and screw it into the pvc. Will it be leak proof? This is for a advanced combustion cannon.Thanks.

Yeah, that'll work fine. Just thread it in but go 1 turn in, then a quarter turn out and keep doing that till it's all the way in. Then take it out and wrap it in Teflon tape. It'll be completely leak proof. It you can, try to put it through two layers of PVC if you can...
Also as far as I know, FIP means a female NPT female threads.
