When trying to run HGDT I get:

Run-Time error '339':
Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

When trying to run GGDT:
Run-Time error '339':
Component 'mschrt20.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

I have all of the files for each program extracted to their own folder, what is going on?

I had the same problem on my new Windows 7 machine. I specified to run it in XP mode. Seems to have fixed the problem (have to answer a security screen each time it launches to allow it to access the HD but that's not a big problem).

In detail, right click on the ggdt4.6.exe file, select properties, select the compatibility tab, check the 'run in compatibility mode for' box and select 'Windows XP SP 3'.

Ya I know he did, I just wanted to put this out there because IIRC he doesn't frequent the forums a lot.

He wrote them for XP using Visual Basic so they don't play so well with Vista and Windoze 7.

I hate to set admin priv when I can avoid it, but XP compatibility should be enough. It works for me. I do have to click through a permission to write on the hard drive, but that is not a big problem. After that it runs fine.

Good luck,

Honestly, I've no idea. I've never even seen Windows 7.

Haha, if you've seen Vista you've pretty much seen Windows 7!

Some programs designed for use in a 32bit system simply will not run in a 64bit system. Sit tight, Microsoft swears patch's are on the way...

They have all ready fixed a lot of those issue's. There was a time not so long ago that the two different system's where not compatible at all...

Hi, Dave. Been a long time.

My computers are all XP until last week. Bought a new laptop, came with Windoze 7 64 bit. Seems to work fairly well so far. The XP compatibility mode worked for me first try, though each time I need to click on a dialog box to allow writing to the hard disk. Perhaps selecting 'run as admin' would help that, I hate to do that however.

Thanks again for GGDT. Thinking about building another Turbo Valve.

Yes, either compatibility (XP mode) in Windows 7 or running it as administrator in either Vista or Windows 7 will allow it to run. Been there, done that, and it works.

Sorry I misunderstood you. That's the hassle with languages :P

What I did was simply running the program as administrator and it works fine. For my cannons it have been quite accurate.
