As somebody asked me to make a how to about using a blowgun to make a hammer valve, here it goes :)
I will make a video for it, but for now only pictures, I think all of you are able to understand it
Basically, you need a blowgun(I do mean blowgun, not these 3000 psi rated pressure washer gun, but if you have a 3000 psi blowgun that´s very cool :D ), a saw(hand or electric, as soon as it cuts metal), a drill.
I would also recommend dremel with cutting disc for metal, gloves, eye protection and mask(protects you from the cutting dust)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask

drill a hole on the buttom of the valve body, it will be used to connected to the chamber. When finished, assemble all the parts back together and the valve is done.

This is the end cap, it has a o´ring to seal the valve stem, you can remove the o-ring and drill a bleed hole if you want semi or full auto (I´m trying that)

open the valve, replace the spring using a weaker one if you want(not absolutely necessary), and replace that rubber disc using a harder one, so it won´t be crashed under high pressure.

striker+spring+adjusttble end cap. striker made with a solid steel core, them covered with epoxy to match the same id as the 1/2 tube, because I need it to be relativelly air tight for semi/full auto. you could use anything you want that workes

cut some 1/2 tube, lenth depende the spring you are going to use. and cut 6 grooves so it fits on the end cap of the blowgun

Nice How-To, how is the power at 150 PSI on your gun? The flow looks low since it is a blowgun though. How is it?
That is all.

The flow is pretty good actually 8)
sorry this is not designed to use with less than 300 psi :(

Nicely done, a good example of what you can achieve with some creativity and lots of epox :) kudos!

sorry editing right now :D

@jack epoxy are good stuff :D , I find out that at 60 degree celsius the epoxy cures really nicely :P , it took only 5h instead of 3 days( says on the label of the epoxy).

Wait, so if I were to use 100 psi what would happen? Would it still work or would it just hold the blow gun open?

I built a VERY similar design(after reading this howto), the blow gun will only "stay open" if your hammer spring is to strong.

you can use a lower PSI, just dont replace the blowgun spring, and use a weaker hammer spring.

Btw, hammer valves are my new found favorite. you cant beat having multiple shots without a regulator!

On a side note, i found that the hammer spring/working pressure is quite touchy when trying to achieve full/semi auto. Doable, but touchy.

If your spring it to weak, or your pressure to great, your valve will fire once, and then "bounce" a few times. making sort of a "PHFT! phft! phhhft!" sounds.

Aha  , good for you. Forgot to mention, yes if you could get only 100 psi, use a weak blowgun, so it will stay open for more time :) , but as I was looking for a pcp airgun´s power I use a stronger blowgun to hold more pressure. And it is a good way to make multi-shot, even through not easy for semi or full auto
finished product :D
