So, after using Spudfiles for some 4+ years, I've finally made and posted something heheh. I haven't seen this design around much, so I thought I would share how I made mine. Rather than posting the full how to here, I made a pretty detailed write up over at Instructables. Pictures, info, and video are here.

Special thanks to JSR for help with research and such. This was my first time using burst disks, and it had amazing results!

Here are a few pictures of the final product, a little less than 40 USD for everything. All pictures are in the Instructable.

Here is a comparison with the advance combustion I built in one day for New Years:

I don't have a damage montage yet. I seem to never really make them due to laziness... oh well, I finally finished my write up after a month! Hope you guys find it useful for looking into a different style of pneumatics.

You could remove a huge amount of pilot volume by running that hose to a tee at the blowgun, but I'm sure power is satisfactory.

When you get past the 500 psi mark for burst discs, you really see a lot of performance, even for 1/2" unions.

Nice launcher. Interesting that you chose to build something unique. How did you cut your burst discs? Flat and clean edges. Did you use a scissor or razor?

Zeus - These parts are only rated for 150psi, but I hope to make a small metal hybrid in the future that can go way beyond that. Still need funds though, my only income is through my Youtube partnership.

CS - I cut the burst disks with scissors. I started to fold over the foil and cut out multiple disks at a time, but they started crimping together at the edge and I couldn't tell if it was faster to cut single disks, or waste time trying to carefully peel them apart.

I didn't have much to do today, so I fixed my coaxial rifle. Once I can get it painted and tested, I'll repost it in its own thread.

Good luck making more than crumbs of money with that, you're better off farming referrals on survey sites.

At least I don't have to actively do much. But if I could up my view/pay rates just a little bit, it would be enough for me to do a small build every month.

Very nice, I love the way you configured the fill setup! Great to see something different on the forum, kudos.

Next step is metal parts and HPA... though I note that you'll probably bypass that step and go hybrid :)

Nice to see a unique build like this...although there are easier ways to launch darts...

I can see a future for triggered burstdisc cartridges..

Bit complicated to make more than one...

I almost said to myself, "Challenge Accepted."

But I have many other gun designs to explore :D

I notice this isn't getting much publicity on the sites I post it on, and that's probably because everyone wants a demo video. I'll see what I can do before school starts.
