Hey, My Names Richard And Im Building Two Air Cannons, Ones A Miniature Co2 Pistol And The Other Is A Sniper Air Cannon Which Works Via A Schraeder Valve. Which Tutorial Online Is The Very Best Ive Watched 12 And Ive Got All The Parts And I Still Can't Get It To Work. The first one is a mini air cannon pistol Its Using A 16g Co2 Cartridge With A Quick Release Trigger. I Used Silicone Glue To Stick The Front Opening Of The Quick Release To An Alluminium Pipe Which Will Fit Nerf Darts. The Problem Im Having Is The Ammo Doesnt Even Shoot 3 Ft. Now Ive Put Electrical Tape Around The Darts To Make Them Fit Tighter Into The Pipe And I Get An Extra Foot Thats It Also The A6g Cartridge Only Lasts 6 Shots Is This Right? Please Help Me I Want To Make It Shoot Atleast 30-40ft. Another Problem Im Having Is That Ive Build The Piping With End Caps With The Schrader Valve But I Cant Find A Tutorial Which Will Give Me What I Want I Want The Ammo To Fly Atleast 250-300ft At 300psi It Would Mean The World To Me If Someone Would Please Help Me And Direct Me In The Right Direction. As Im Getting Worried That Ive Spent $250 On Something That Wont Even Work.
Sincerely Richard.
Please HELP me Air Cannon.
For your sniper,,, why not use a simple sprinkler valve or a qev they are a lot cheaper then 250 bucks just build build a chamber nd desired barrel, nd design something, look around the forum,, nd using a qev you can go up to higher pressures nd def get 300 ft
Hope this helps:)
Hope this helps:)

Hi Cannonboy!
First off, it's hard to read a solid block of text.
You might want to use the enter button to seperate your lines.
It would help if you could show us the plans you used so far, so we can tell you where it's flawed or what you have overlooked.
Right now I don't know what to tell you.
What parts did you get and how are they supposed to work?
From what I can understand you've glued a pipe to a tire inflator?
Nerf darts are very light. They will move with the least amount of pressure.
It seems that there isn't sufficient pressure buildup before the Nerfdart pops out.
A leak or blowby around the projectile will only add to the poor performance.
This is why we use fast acting, high flow valves.
You might get better shots if you tap the trigger rather than just squeeze it, giving the projectile no chance to pop out before the pressure peaks.
Please list the parts you have bought, show us the link to the plans and include some pictures of what you've done so far.
In the mean while, you might want to try shooting a piece of spud.
just cut through the entire patato with the barrel. Just for a test.
This will give an almost 100% airtight and heavy projectile.
Slide in in all the way and tap the trigger firmly.
If you get a better shot than you'll know all of the above is true.
After you've provided us with the needed info we can help you build a better cannon out of the stuff you've bought.
