why are sprinkler valves used?

why do people use sprinkler valves on their potato guns? do they release air quicly? what's the advantage?

They open and release air much faster than ball valves. We also pneumatically mod them (search around if you don't know what I mean) to make them open faster.

yea i just made a gun with a 1.5"chamber going to 1" then the solenoid valve then a 0.5" barrell
they are awesome!!!!!!!!!
we modded? it with a bike valve and a valve extender on it you press the white needle on the valve extender to set it off it sounds like a really loud fart
is this normal?????

a bike valve wont work well to release the air, get a blowgun or a ball valve to open the solenoid valve

yes, u really need to go up to a blow gun, my gun makes the farting noise when it has a really bad fire or when i open it slowly, but when it fires right and fast it makes a crack sound, thats what u want
i got connections with the modfia, watch who ur talkin to noob.

oh ok we were going to thread a 1\4" hole 4 an air blow gun but it was to big to thread so we glued in a valve but ill go to my grandpas place and get him 2 help me
