Ok everyone wants the answer to this....well I have it.

I found an old tap(pictured below) and opened it up to reveal this threaded plug thing that makes the tap screw and let water in. If you have a tap similar to this take it all apart and un-screw all the fittings.....
You will be left with a single fitting that is around about 16-17mm and about 7-9mm. But on the inside of the 16mm part is 1/4"(6mm) threads, so cut the 7-9mm threads off and grind it down so its smooth,now you have Fire Extinguisher threads on the outside and 1/4" threads on the inside. Simply thread it into any FE(most should work) and then tap a 1/4" thread into the fitting and then tap a 1/4"- whateverthreadyourusing and thats it.

Tap with fittings removed(Left fitting is modded, right fitting is non-modded)


Left Fitting has top cut of and grinded down revealing 1/4" threads, Right fitting is straight from the tap no mods made.

Your home water pressure is about 1-2bar. That does not mean that everything in contact with it is rated for exactly that.

When it comes to pressure rating something its pretty much safe to say that a chunk of machined brass intended to be installed with metal tools is not going to do anything interesting at air cannon pressure.

Yeah, Its fine, Its made from Brass, and you don't use the tap, just the fitting, The modified fitting would fail before the brass as you have to tap 1/4" threads for some taps,the others all ready have 1/4" threads, But are harder to find.

Anyways, thats a good idea MrCrowley, now i might be able to use some of the old scrap fire extinguishers i have lying around.

It works perfectly fine, but since my 'Dual Fire Extinguisher Paintball Rifle' has 2 FE's(fire extinguishers) I was putting alot of weight on two 1/4" fittings. Its really strong and perfectly fine when using one 1kg FE, but two can strain it a bit and risk leaking at 100psi. If you had one mofo air compressor you could make a nice cloud out of a FE. Tap a blow gun into the side,put a barrel on the 1/4" fittings and you can fill up via the modified tap fitting.

Biker, it a pneumatic, he doesn’t need an ignition, just a valve.

Now, MrCrowly, killjoy, and frankrede, what is your problem! He just asked a simple question, all you had to do was tell him that it’s pneumatic and doesn’t need an ignition. But instead you had to flame you fellow spud gunner.
It sickens me, he’s new, just trying to figure things out, he came here hoping to tap in to this vast source of knowledge, and when he asked a question you flam him! Why is it so hard to give him the right answer, are you to lazy, or do you not know your selves!?!

Sorry I couldn't resist it was just kinda obvios he hadn't read through the entire post cause it being used for a pneumatic was mentioned.

I see both sides.

The issue in question seems like it was borderline flaming, but at the same time, I think the new members should read the Wiki throughly, look around the How-To section, and get the general concepts down before they start posting questions.
Otherwise the forum patrons tend to get annoyed by the newbie's lack of knowledge, which isn't a good situation (this is why).

So it's really in a new member's best interest to read up and get the basic concepts down before posting, to avoid situations like this.
But at the same time, the forum patrons could try harder to post links to the Wiki and How-To sections and other helpful materials rather than "flame".

Would everyone agree with that?

Its not even a pneumatic, its not even a gun, its a how to on making a custom fitting.
I don;t give him answers because he doesn't deserve them.

You don’t deserve the air you breathe! Learn some respect for you fellows, but in the mean time don’t clog up the bandwidth. Ok so it’s not a pneumatic, but at least my post was more helpful, and less flaming, than yours.
