me and my friend was thinking about taking an empty propane tank(or any tank we can find to hold pressure) and making an air tank for bbmgs by puttin in a shcrader in the tank and then attach the tank to a cloud, and then just fill the tank up with regular air compressor, will this work or would we be wasting time?

it would work, but only for a couple of seconds. you wont be able to get a to of air in such a small tank, so the cloud would shoot for maybe a second or two, and then you have to refill it. i wouldnt waste my money on this project.

Yeah as soon as that tank gets lower then 60PSI the bbs will practically dribble out and it will go from 100-60psi pretty fast in a cloud.

when you said such a small tank your refering to the propane tank? if so i can get a big propane tank, or another tank i can get at my dads hardware store wich is like 10 gallons

EDIT:ok so im just better off in investing in a aircompressor that has a tank?

one question though, would the tank on the air compressor do the same? if it doesnt whats the difference?

Do you mean the same as a propane tank or the same as a whole compressor?

What if your took one of those car/portable/cheapo air compressors (like they got at China-mart for about 20 bucks) and attached it to a propane tank (which I’ve seen some rather large ones for next to nothing’.) you would have a 20-30 dollar air compressor. I’ve seen portable air compressors that go up to 225psi for about $20u.s. that plugs in to the wall, no tank though, but for next to nothing you could get a propane tank and have a halfway decent air compressor.
I think that was just a little too redundant…

But if he invest $80 in a decent air compressor he can hook it up to the cloud and leave the compressor running while hes shooting so it fills up as it shoots, though he will shoot more air then the air compressor can charge so it will give him an extra 5-10sec of shooting.

Well if you put a manifold on it you could have an input from the compressor, an out for a pressure gauge, and as many out’s to what every you pleased as you wanted! Make a manifold out of tees, put one on the tank and put two more on that tee. Then if you wanted/needed you could put anther tee on.

what if he uses a big propane tank for grills or even multiple tanks then he can get more gallons than most afordable tank compresers can give him

Unless getting those tanks are harder for you. but my dad does deals with the propane for the boy scouts

Yes, that would be ideal, you could get as big of tank as you want, one problem is the bigger the tank the longer it’ll take to fill.

this isn't exactly staying on topic

once again i will state that you would probably be better off with an air compressor. there is really no way to make a practical portable cloud unless you get a scuba tank and a super powerful compressor to pump it to like 3000 psi and then have a regulator on it so it only lets out 100 psi at a time. that would work really well, except most air compressors dont go that high, and i doubt youre strong enough to do that with a bike pump!
