Nuker II - Pneumatic launcher

When I set out to build the Nuker II, I had a few design goals in mind. First, I wanted high velocity without alot of noise. This is why I chose to use syncronized sprinkler valves. I maxed out the amount of pressure chamber to barrel ratio to give this choice of valve as much power as possible. Next, I wanted a truly simply barrell switch. By running the barrel up the center of the pressure chambers I was able to use a simple hard foam sleeve that slides down the barrell after it is threaded on. this sleeve locks the barrel tightly in place and allows for the barrels to be replaced without tools in seconds. Last was to design a launcher that could sit on the gound and be fired with ease. This definitely does that and well. She has lots of power and rips out a 5 - 6 foot vapor cloud each time she is fired.
Comments welcomed.
Thanks,
Craig

That is one sweet cannon, no corners cut.Love th metal bracing as well. Well Done with the FOUR..YES FOUR chambers!
Only problem I can see is from the side view it looks like you used 4 Wye's to join the chambers if im wrong feel free to correct me. But if those are wye's they are DWV and are not rated for any pressure of any kind.
Great Job!

That is a awesome cannon. Are you sure that 4 to 1 is a good ratio? because I think a 5-6 foot vapor cloud shows that your barrel is not long enough. or i could be wrong.

That is amazing! I too thought the chambers were part metal when I saw that, definitely a good job with the chrome paint.
However, I don't think it helps the fact that it looks like you're gonna shoot down a jet
. But hey if spudguns are legal in your area they can't say anything.

I'm quite gobsmacked by this.
It has it's problems, but I couldn't give a damn about those - it's just so pretty!!!
